A Change is Coming...
Today I want to tell you all about some exciting changes coming soon!
Last year I was offered a fabulous opportunity, something that had me think very seriously about the direction of my business and how seriously I wanted to take it. This little brand that I started just to keep me out of mischief had already been growing faster than I ever imagined, than I ever dared hope for. I had to decide, quite quickly, if I would treat it as a little venture for me to earn a living or if I wanted to see how far I could go, how big I could build it, how good it could really be. It wasn't an easy decision, I fretted over it for days, I've never set out to be the biggest, the richest, the loudest, just the best I could, the best I could create, the best I could share with you all. I talked it over with a few people I really trust, one of them said to me 'don't you realise, this is what you do, you can't settle, if it's not this, it will be something else!' I realised she was absolutely right, I always strive for more, for better, always have done since I decided as a little girl that I would never have to live in a tower block again, never have to worry about how I would pay the bills, never have to struggle as my mum had had to when we were little, whether I was working on a market stall (yup, done that!) or in a marketing company, or building my own company, I never stopped trying to make things better (that market stall had the neatest signs and most organised racks you've ever seen!)
This is my dream job, what I want to do forever, I knew I had to grab it, I took that opportunity with both hands, I threw everything at it, I took on Lisa as my assistant, I spoke to B about working with me more and more, I delegated more and more to the lovely ladies that help me (my design team, mine and B's mums, my sisters) I worked 20 hour days, I fell asleep on my keyboard more than once! it wasn't easy, there were a lot of hiccups, I had a tough time handing over my work, my stuff (my baby!) to other people, trusting them to do it as I would do it.
Since then, it's continued to grow, at a crazy rapid pace that even I can't believe - every week is something new, a new product, a new opportunity, a new client. It's been FANTASTIC! I'm giddy, literally giddy.
So, that brings me on to the changes, you may already notice a few tweaks to the blog, there will be more over the next days and weeks, there will be more content on more things (don't worry, there will still be a ton of craft, more than ever before actually!!) but also more on other lovely things - DIY projects, home and... well, I'll surprise you with the rest! lol, you'll also see changes over on the SarahHurley365 blog where my team post and we have a brand new swishy website coming very soon!
On top of all that, you'll be seeing more products and ranges than ever before, more sharing, more freebies (in fact every week as from next week there will be a regular 'Freebie Friday' post!) more collaborations and just generally MORE stuff! I have some lovely sponsors on board (I'll be posting up some advertising and sponsor info soon, in the meantime, please email me directly if this is something you'd like to get involved in)
I hope you're as excited for these changes as we are, we have lots and lots in store for you, a lot of which I can't even tell you about yet (it took me 4 hours to brief my team the other night! and I didn't even get to tell them everything, lol) but I will just as soon as I can - promise!
Thank you for bearing with me for this epic post, I'm off for dinner with B now :o)

While Tidying, we found a massive box of things from previous 'A Few of My Favourite Things...' kits including papers, journaling cards, stamps and embellishments.

Catching Up - Stitches Show and CHA news!
I've been away for most of this week at the Stitches trade show in Birmingham. I go every year but usually just for one day, however this year I had lots of exciting meetings planned and things to do so I stayed for the whole thing!
I was very lucky that when I got to the hotel, I was upgraded to a suite, so I had a star on my door and a little balcony opposite the bed (though it was far too cold and rainy to actually go out there!!)
For the first day my assistant Lisa came with me and we had a fab time checking out all the new products, including my brand new stamps for Personal Impressions!! (I still squeal a little when I see my new products)
When she left, I quickly rushed back to the hotel for the CHA UK AGM and networking event, I'm super pleased and proud to tell you that while I was there, I was elected to the board of directors! To even be considered was an honour, let alone selected and elected! So for the next 3 years I will be working on some very exciting projects for the craft industry alongside a number of fab industry experts (am I allowed to squeal again??)
After all of that excitement I treated myself to a little lie in in the squishy hotel bed (surprising how much sleep you can get when you don't have furry peeps snoring in your ear and trampling you! lol) before heading back for the last day of the show on Tuesday, I had lots of exciting meetings lined up and I can't wait to start telling you all the new and exciting things coming soon! I also got to have a little crafty time with Tania at WOW embossing, making this pretty pink ring...
I had dinner that night with the rest of the CHA UK board so we could all meet each other properly and then I was up early Wednesday for an all day board meeting (my first one!!) before heading home to Essex, I think my furry peeps missed me, what do you think??
Now, Lisa and I are frantically catching up with emails and things, and working on the reveal of this months 'A Few of My Favourite Things' kit (watch your inboxes this weekend!!) I will be back very soon with some crafty things and projects to show you very soon too.

Watercolour Love Scrapbooking
Today, as promised, I'm showing you what I made with my Watercolour Love mini kit that I gave away earlier in the week (you can see that post and download the kit if you haven't already here) this page was made using all of the kit printed onto 190gsm textured paper (I got mine from eBay) to keep the watercolour look, all I added was some Bazzill Cardstock as a base, stitching, a gold doily and some embellishments, here is what I made...
I added some gold stitching to the bottom using my 'Sew Easy' from WRMK - love this little gizmo, it's a total must have!!
I made lots of layers, fringing some as a border to add even more texture...
The hearts from the embellishment sheet I layered together tying or stitching them in the middle, the gold doily I used in three different places and I added some wooden hearts and a feather and some enamel dots...
The tags were cut from the embellishment sheet in the kit and layered together with some button twine tied in a bow...
I hope this shows that you can still be creative with printables (once it's all printed you have the same as with any type of supplies - paper and embellishments!) and that you don't have to be a techie whizz - just print and go!!
If you've made something with the kit, we would love to see, please share here in the links or over on my Facebook page.
Thank you for dropping by today!

October Afternoon & Personal Impressions Christmas Cards
Today I'm sharing two cards you may have seen recently in Making Cards magazine. For these I used one of my favourite ever Christmas lines by October Afternoon (Holiday Style) with my Christmas stamps for Personal Impressions...
This first card uses the Christmas Tags stamp set, stamped in Staz On ink and distressed with Distress Ink in tea dye to make them more vintage looking to match the papers...

Documenting December
Following on from my previous posts, here and here, today I have another couple of pages to share with you from my first week of December...
I've been following my prompt book again, although I have mixed the order up slightly, here is the left page close up...
and the right...
I realised I didn't have some of the holiday stamps / stickers I would have liked, I wanted one saying Holiday and one saying 'Making a List' and I didn't have either - note made for next years Christmas collections! :o) so instead I dug out my Dymo label maker and used that to make some text labels - I forgot how much I love it, it's staying out now!
I think this is my favourite card, I edited one of my personalised letters to Santa to make it naughty and left it out for B to find, I think he totally would have believed if I hadn't been giggling stupidly ;o) it still makes me laugh to remember it
On this side I included things like despatching a record number of orders, the crate of christmas decorations and some new Christmas products I'd finished up, not major things, but all little events I would want to remember that led up to the big day.
I'll be back later in the week with some more pages, I hope this helps you to follow my process a little bit. I'd love to see how you're doing yours if you'd like to share your links.
Thank you for dropping by today!

here are a few more close ups (you can click each one to see it bigger)
On the right side I used this square block page protector and cut squares of paper from the kit to fit - these held my little Selphy pictures perfectly and left the other side for some journaling along with some of the square elements from the kit. it was a great quick and easy way to sum up the week and include all the little things that maybe aren't quite as important but that I still wanted to remember. On this side I included things like despatching a record number of orders, the crate of christmas decorations and some new Christmas products I'd finished up, not major things, but all little events I would want to remember that led up to the big day.

Documenting December...
If you saw my earlier post here, you'll know this is my first year to document December, so far I'm loving the process (and all the Christmas preparation!) today I'm sharing my first page...
Because I used a shaped page for my intro page, it peeks through a little bit which I love!
I'm using journaling cards from my Documented365 December Documented kit and the November 'A Few of My Favourite Things...' kit
I kept the embellishments pretty simple, just a glittery number, some washi tape and enamel dots, because I'm doing Project Life as well and in full Christmas rush I don't have time to make things really complicated.
I'm following the Documented365 prompt book to structure my album a little but I'll be mixing them up a little bit.
I'll be back later in the week with some more pages, I hope this helps you to follow my process a little bit. I'd love to see how you're doing yours if you'd like to share your links.
