Project Life - Week 6

Today I'm sharing another week of my Project Life! This spread uses a mix of the Honey and Jade kits along with lots of stitching using the American Crafts / Amy Tan Stitching Templates.

Project Life - Week 5

It's been a little while since I've shared any of my Project Life, I've got a little stuck on this page since my Dad died a few weeks ago and I know I had to post it today just to get it out of the way so I can move on to the next one, otherwise I'll be very very behind in my posting! and I would like to get past it so I can post other weeks and projects that include him. I have blocked out a few of the journaling areas, not something I usually do, and I'll skip over a few of the cards I would usually talk about more, just because it's still very very raw and I'd like to keep those things to myself for now, I hope you understand... So, here is my week 5!

I used a mix of the Project Life Honey core kit, a Crate Paper mini kit and Documented365 cards...

The Day in the Life stamp is from one of my own sets, it was perfect for documenting this day at Create & Craft!

This one is a bit random, I documented a tweet from the week, it amused me a little bit, I wonder if I'll still find it funny in 10 years time!...

The header for this week I made from some paper scraps and a Stampin Up stamp - I'm not sure why the glasses are relevant to the week but I thought it fitted well! 

I loved this pic of Fuzzybutt finishing off my ice lolly, it was so hot that week! The TV stamp I've had for about 10 years (it's an old woodblock one) I liked the area it left for me to journal in the centre - I didn't have a lot to document this week so there are a few random everyday things thrown in - all still very important of course!

Project Life - Week 4

It's been a while since I shared my Project Life spreads so today I'm catching up! Here is a look at my week 4...

I used a mixture of Simple Stories Urban Traveler collection and Basic Grey Capture with a few bits from one of 'A Few of My Favourite Things...' kits. That week I traveled a lot, between home, the Create & Craft studio, up to Durham to see my family, home again to Essex via Norfolk to meet up with my other sister, so the travel line fitted perfectly! Here is a close up of the left page...

I used some embellishments from my kit and Freckled Fawn - the wood veneers I coloured with a Hero Arts neon pink dauber and a mint green Promarker. Here is a close up of the right page...

I love the little Basic Grey 'you are my rainbow' die cut, it worked perfectly for this very rare pic of me and my sister (we live too far away to get many!) because we have a long standing joke of calling each other different things stemming from a Rachel Zoe Project episode where she called her assistant 'her blessed jewel', so here, she is my rainbow! This side also features the first ever pic of me with Taz and Kerri (another of my sisters) a very special moment for me to document! This picture of my nephew is so cute too and gave me a perfect excuse to use the moustache die my friend bought for me as it matches his t-shirt! and there is a sneak peek of a little character down there too who is featuring in a big exciting project I'm working on (eek!)

This close up shows one of the funny moments of my weekend at my sisters, I'm so glad I remembered this to get in my album!

I used this luggage tag and label to fit with the travel theme, this pic was taken on a moving train, the scenery was just so pretty as it whizzed past! The cork geotag was from my 'A Few of My Favourite Things...' kit, I love this embellishment so I'm glad I have a few more to work with!

I'm a little behind on my Project Life right now as things have been so chaotic here, but I have a crafty weekend planned this week so I'll have a major catch up, I've missed it too much!

A Little Peek at Project Life

I had planned to share a Project Life spread with you today but I've not had a chance to take the pictures! so instead, I'm going to share a little peek at a Project Life spread I started last night, I've been using my Doodle Doll stamps lots in my Project Life lately...

This one is coloured with Pentel watercolour pens and the wooden veneer feather is embossed with gold pearl WOW embossing powder.

I will be back to being a better blogger very soon (promise!) but for now I must get back to the drawing board, look out for sneak peeks of what I'm up to via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram :o)

Project Life - Week 3

Today I'm sharing another of my Project Life spreads, this is the 3rd week of my album (I started in June)...

I used a mixture of the Jade and Honey Core kits along with a few Documented365 cards and some other bits and pieces which I'll show in close up.

I've used a Documented365 card as my title card with the dates stamped in neon pink in the centre of the arrow. You can see on the grey card below (from the Jade core kit) I've cut around the text with an x-acto knife so it sits over my picture.

That week I was mostly working and travelling, though I did manage to get a pic of my Earl Grey into my album finally - would be weird if it wasn't in there somewhere! lol

 

In fact I've just realised my Hot Chocolate and Chai Tea Latte feature this week too - How many Starbucks cups can you spot? ;o)

The cork card was cut from some leftover paper, I think from a Simple Stories collection - I love to mix and match!

Here I've used a card from a Doodlebug collection, the blue pin would have been hidden by my picture so I used an x-acto knife to trim it out and attach it to the front as if it was pinning my picture.

I'm hoping to get some scrappy time tomorrow, it's been so very busy here at Hurley HQ with lots of exciting developments (will start filling you in on them all next week!) that I've not had as much crafty time as I'd like, that needs to be put right this weekend!

My Project Life Organisation & Free Download!

  

I've been sharing lots of my Project Life / Documented365 pics on Instagram and had lots of people ask me about my process, I wanted to try and share some details so today I'm starting with how I get organised.

I used to keep my weekly notes scribbled on scraps of paper, post it notes, basically anything I had laying around, but I kept losing things and having to go back over my twitter / facebook / text messages / diary to fill in the gaps, so I came up with a solution! I had a chipboard binder and plastic wallets I had bought from Paperchase a few months ago so I turned them into my Project Life / Documented365 organiser...

To give you a proper look through it without a ton of pictures I made a little video on my iPhone (first one I've made for a while! lots of you have been asking for more videos - I'm getting braver! so watch this space... lol) which you can see here...

The printable sheets that I've used in my organiser are available as free download in A4 and A5 (2 to an A4 sheet) ready for you to print and use, you can download them here...

My First Ever Project Life Weekly Spread!

I've already shared with you all one of my Project Life spreads here in a previous post but that was actually my second week (as I was showing you how I incorporated the new Documented365 bits) today I'm sharing my first ever Project Life spread which is the week before the one you've seen (confused yet? lol)

This  one was made using my Project Life Honey core kit and some Sn@p from Simple Stories bits and pieces, there is no Documented365 except for a few stamped bits as the new things weren't here yet! Here are a few close ups...

This was my Birthday week so includes pics of some of my cards and presents (including my Project Life kit that B got for me!) and my very own Birthday Google doodle.

The second page has my trip to Westfield, some more birthday bits, work things and another little peek at the big project I've been working on...

 

I've used a mixture of design a and design d page protectors - so far it's a week of all one, then a mixed week, then a week of the other (I hope that makes sense!) I like to keep some variety to my spreads as I mentioned before so I use a mix of layouts and materials for each one.

I was asked a couple of questions about my spread last time, so, my instagram prints are from Printed.com and regular prints from Photobox and my album is from WRMK in aqua leather finish. As ever, if you have any questions at all please leave them here and I will answer them in a future post!
