New Business Launch! Introducing BeeBee's Boutique...

Today, I'm super excited to announce another business launch, this time, not mine, but B's. He came up with a concept at the end of last year that I thought would be FAB!

I stock only my own brand products but often use other things in my projects - I get so many messages asking where you can get a certain stamp or paper, often I've found them abroad and it's hard for you to get hold of the same things. B decided that he would solve all of your problems!

He has today launched his online shop, BeeBee's Boutique, stocking a range of gorgeous crafty things, pretty things (like stationery, stickers and gifts) and yummy things (like the delicious American candy we enjoy here at Hurley HQ!) For us, crafting is an experience, we use our crafty favourites but we also mix in pretty stationery and it doesn't hurt to have something delicious to snack on while we create either! BeeBee's Boutique brings you all of those things in one handy place.

Exciting News! Introducing ShinHan...

Today I get to share some super exciting news! (good start to the New Year!) as you may have already seen if you follow CHA UK on Twitter or read the CHA UK website regularly, it has just been announced that I have been appointed the UK Brand Ambassador for ShinHan Art - the leading manufacturer and distributor of art materials in Korea (including some truly fabulous markers - I can't wait to show you! - and a wide range of paints and mediums). Here is a little peek at what is to come...

I'll be using all of my illustration, craft and previous colouring in experience to show you lots and lots of projects, tips and techniques using the whole range of products (probably starting with markers though, you know how I love my pens!!)

We are currently working on establishing the UK team and getting lots of content and things set up so you will be seeing more about this in a couple of weeks time once all that behind the scenes stuff has been completed (I'll share some peeks as we go though!) and I'll be showing you all of the products in much more detail - I just know you'll love them as much as I do!

Celebrating Milestones

Today I realised that in the last few days, with so much going on here at Hurley HQ, we had been so busy that we missed two very important milestones!!

Firstly, a few days ago marked four years since I launched my business with my first two products and just £40 left in the bank, I was absolutely terrified but had nothing left to lose, how much has changed since then!

Secondly, yesterday was the one year anniversary of Lisa's first day at Hurley HQ! As she is off on holiday and not here to celebrate with cake, I've eaten her chocolate marshmallows with my afternoon cuppa instead! ;o)

Sarah Hurley's World of Imagination Shortlisted in Prestigious Toy Awards!

More exciting news to share with you all today, I'm over the moon to tell you that my World of Imagination Make Believe Shop Playset has been shortlisted for a Slow Craft Toy Award! These are very prestigious awards, backed by John Lewis, supporting traditional toys and engaging play rather than computer games and flashing lights (though those are fun too!)

When I was developing the range I looked for a way to involve craft, learning and good old fashioned fun in one cute case and hopefully I achieved it! Now it's up to a panel of 6 prestigious judges including top parenting bloggers, authors and representatives of John Lewis and The Guardian to decide the winner, we'll be waiting on the edge of our seats at Hurley HQ!

*NEW!* Sarah Hurley Bakeware

Today we're launching a whole range of new products - so exciting! When Lisa first started working here she suggested we launch a bakeware range - I wasn't sure, I'm not a super duper baker and I like everything put together for me so it's super easy. Luckily thats exactly what she had in mind!

Lisa has since spent all of her free time baking, cutting and icing cookies to put together this fabulous range of cookie kits and accessories especially for the Sarah Hurley Bakeware range! (big thank you to Lisa for all the hard work and congratulations on our first collaboration, whoop! choccy cake all round - if we hadn't eaten it already, lol)

Each kit contains everything you need to get started (except ingredients!) with a cutter, icing bottles, instructions, recipes and hints and tips, they are perfect for adults and children (or to do together!)

Exciting News! Top Drawer Autumn / Winter 2014

Today I get to share some exciting news (yay!) I am very very pleased (and a little bit nervous) to tell you that we will be exhibiting at our very first trade show this September!! I'm even more excited to tell you that the show we will be exhibiting at is the very fabulous and well respected Top Drawer!

You may remember that Lisa and I visited Top Drawer in London earlier in the year. We had no expectation that we were going to exhibit at the next one, we just thought it would be great to look around, meet some people and see how far off being ready we were. As we were walking around the show, Lisa kept saying to me 'you could totally do this, you're SO ready' I was still unsure... But as I looked around I did feel like I could fit in, that maybe I was ready.

When we got back to the office I had a little look at the website - i thought it was like any other trade show, you paid for your stand, rocked up with your stuff and Bob's your mums brother - not so! You have to apply, send over samples of your work and a panel decide if they think you're ready and if you would fit in well - the show is curated (eeek!)

I decided to apply, I thought I'd probably get turned down the first time anyway and it would be good experience and I might get some feedback (I should know better than to do stuff like this by now - ha!) Anyway... a couple of weeks later, I was at Stitches in Birmingham when I get a phone call from a lady at Top Drawer - I thought this is nice, she's letting me down gently... She was calling to confirm what size stand I wanted - they loved my products and I was IN! (double eeek!)

So now, we have just a couple of months to go before I will be launching lots of new products in front of some of the most well known buyers and press (triple eeek!) I'm so looking forward to it! We've been planning for months and now it's very nearly here!!! I hope some of you will be visiting and will come and say hello and see all of the new things.

Sneak Peeks! *New* World of Imagination....

Today I'm sharing super exciting news and sneak peeks (my favourite!) As I mentioned, next week we will be launching something new and super exciting, a completely new brand and product range and something I have been working on for over a year! There are a ton of exciting things and products in the works - I can't even tell you how many! but the first few will launch next week.

Here are a couple of sneak peeks I've shared over on Facebook. Firstly... here is a little look into one of the boxes delivered last week (we are literally surrounded by boxes right now and have lots and lots more on the way - eeek!)

Exciting News - CHA UK One Big Show!

Today I get to share some super exciting news with you, I'm thrilled and scared in equal measure! But to start at the beginning of the story... Last night I received a call from Craig at CHA UK, not an unusual thing as we often have to discuss board things, but it usually doesn't happen at weekends! so I knew this must be something very important... He said to me that over the last few weeks lots of you had been seeing me talk about our upcoming 'One Big Show' event here on my blog, on Facebook, Twitter etc... and you all wanted to come and network and meet us all and join in the fun (yay!) but you were a little worried maybe there wouldn't be a lot put on for you as designers.

Of course, we all really REALLY want you to be there - I personally can't wait to meet you all! and talk about my two favourite things - craft and business!! So Craig asked me to put together a program of things ESPECIALLY for you! I was already scheduled to do one talk (hence my post a few weeks ago about something exciting that meant conquering one of my fears - public speaking!!) but I was up all night brainstorming lots more about what I would have wanted to know when I took that scary first step almost 4 years ago, and the stuff I'd quite liked to have asked since! and between Craig and I, we have come up with what I think, is a fantastic programme of things that you'll love and find both inspiring and informative including all about how I started, how you can do it too, creative blogging and SO much more! There will also be the opportunity to ask us questions and get advice and network with other designers and companies.

If you aren't already attending or you're on the fence, NOW is the time to get on board, especially if this is what you've been waiting for.
