New Business Launch! Introducing BeeBee's Boutique...

Today, I'm super excited to announce another business launch, this time, not mine, but B's. He came up with a concept at the end of last year that I thought would be FAB!

I stock only my own brand products but often use other things in my projects - I get so many messages asking where you can get a certain stamp or paper, often I've found them abroad and it's hard for you to get hold of the same things. B decided that he would solve all of your problems!
He has today launched his online shop, BeeBee's Boutique, stocking a range of gorgeous crafty things, pretty things (like stationery, stickers and gifts) and yummy things (like the delicious American candy we enjoy here at Hurley HQ!) For us, crafting is an experience, we use our crafty favourites but we also mix in pretty stationery and it doesn't hurt to have something delicious to snack on while we create either! BeeBee's Boutique brings you all of those things in one handy place.

We very much hope you'll enjoy shopping with us and like all of the gorgeous new things we have for you, check it out here now!

Thank you so much for dropping by today and sharing our excitement, it's B's Birthday today so we're going to be celebrating that and his new venture tonight!

*NEW!* Sarah Hurley Bakeware

Today we're launching a whole range of new products - so exciting! When Lisa first started working here she suggested we launch a bakeware range - I wasn't sure, I'm not a super duper baker and I like everything put together for me so it's super easy. Luckily thats exactly what she had in mind!
Lisa has since spent all of her free time baking, cutting and icing cookies to put together this fabulous range of cookie kits and accessories especially for the Sarah Hurley Bakeware range! (big thank you to Lisa for all the hard work and congratulations on our first collaboration, whoop! choccy cake all round - if we hadn't eaten it already, lol)

Each kit contains everything you need to get started (except ingredients!) with a cutter, icing bottles, instructions, recipes and hints and tips, they are perfect for adults and children (or to do together!)

You can check out the whole range here on my website or here on notonthehighstreet.com

We'd love to know what you think of the new range!

Pimp My Filofax Blogger Challenge

A couple of weeks ago I had an email from Filofax asking if I would like to take part in their Blogger Challenge #pimpmyfilofax - of course I said YES!
Just a couple of days later a lovely big parcel plopped through my door...
and I opened it to find this...
I must admit, my first thought, after 'eeeeeeeeeeeek!' was 'oh, it's purple...' as you've probably guessed from my projects and blog, I have quite a particular colour scheme, white, teal, pink, grey, hints of yellow and lots and lots and LOTS of gold. So I started thinking... could I...? dare I...? and so of course, I did! out came the gold spray paint and just a few hours - and lots of masking tape - later (I had to do it in sections...) my beautiful filofax was GOLD!
Once that was all taken care of it was time to prepare a page to use for my challenge entry, I got busy with craft supplies and wash tape, including some journaling cards form this months 'A Few of My Favourite Things...' kit to create my page for the week ahead...
Here are a couple of close ups...

You can check out all of the #pimpmyfilofax Challenge entries and vote for your favourite (by liking it) right here on Facebook.

I'd love to see what you've done with your planners and Fliofaxes - if you'd like to share, please leave me your links!

Creating Ink Sprays and Art Journaling for Derwent

Today I wanted to give you a closer look at the Art Journal page I created for Derwent recently...
My post was about creating your own Ink Sprays, which I done using Inktense blocks (love them!) and water - you can see the full tutorial over on the Derwent Blog here! I used my sprays to create the background for my page...
I then used a triangle mask and some texture paste paint to create the triangles and added a Doodle Doll stamped image, coloured with Inktense pencils, and some Dymo label text to spell out my words (which I doodled all around!)

Finally, I added a die cut chipboard heart (which I had torn in half) added some texture paste and the last piece of text, and again, doodled over the top...
I don't often share my art journaling so I do hope you like it!

Scrapbooking with My Mind's Eye 'Market Street' Collection

Hello crafty peeps, I've been a little bit quiet the last couple of weeks (sorry!) - we've been super busy at Hurley HQ with yet another reorganisation (the next time we move it will have to be to a new premises, we have no space left, eeek!) new computers, new products and ranges and just generally LOTS going on - more about that later though....

Today, I wanted to share a scrapbook page I made a couple of weeks ago using one of my favourite collections of this year, My Mind's Eye 'Market Street' it has lovely bold colours and plenty of gold accents - what more do you need! I used my collection to make this layout of my sister and I messing about taking silly selfies on a day out...
I used two journaling cards, making one into a pocket to hold the other (I'm adding my journaling later) I wanted the journaling to be hidden (that card tucks in more) as the whole story is something we wanted to keep secret! This chipboard accents are perfect for the title!

I've layered up a few papers, I wanted to use all of them really but I restrained myself and kept the layers quite big so as not to cover up the beautiful detailing, the die cut ephemera worked well with taps and labels to give more dimension and those all important gold accents! I finished with the big bow (a must have - I love that it looks dimensional but it's actually flat to tuck into an album!) and a sprinkling of enamel dots. My only addition was a gold doily (it's an obsession, really... put the doilies down, walk away... lol)

I'll be back with more crafty projects soon, I think this collection may feature again too as I have some left over.

Thank you so much for dropping by today!

You Rock Card & Guitar Template

Today I wanted to show you a card I had published at the end of last year, I thought it would be perfect inspiration if you haven't made your Father's Day card yet (and I've included the template I designed for it!)
The card is an easel card and the guitar is paper pieced from the template I drew (you can download it below)
I pierced some holes and threaded some black cotton through to make strings, it's embellished with enamel dots. I added some veneer stars and letter stickers to spell out the sentiment to the background.
The records are made from two circle punches and punched through the centre with a one hole punch.
Here is the template for the guitar, you just need to right click and save (or ctrl click on a mac) print and trace onto your choice of coloured paper! The illustration is there as a guide.
I hope you'll share if you use it to make your card!

Exciting News - CHA UK One Big Show!

Today I get to share some super exciting news with you, I'm thrilled and scared in equal measure! But to start at the beginning of the story... Last night I received a call from Craig at CHA UK, not an unusual thing as we often have to discuss board things, but it usually doesn't happen at weekends! so I knew this must be something very important... He said to me that over the last few weeks lots of you had been seeing me talk about our upcoming 'One Big Show' event here on my blog, on Facebook, Twitter etc... and you all wanted to come and network and meet us all and join in the fun (yay!) but you were a little worried maybe there wouldn't be a lot put on for you as designers.

Of course, we all really REALLY want you to be there - I personally can't wait to meet you all! and talk about my two favourite things - craft and business!! So Craig asked me to put together a program of things ESPECIALLY for you! I was already scheduled to do one talk (hence my post a few weeks ago about something exciting that meant conquering one of my fears - public speaking!!) but I was up all night brainstorming lots more about what I would have wanted to know when I took that scary first step almost 4 years ago, and the stuff I'd quite liked to have asked since! and between Craig and I, we have come up with what I think, is a fantastic programme of things that you'll love and find both inspiring and informative including all about how I started, how you can do it too, creative blogging and SO much more! There will also be the opportunity to ask us questions and get advice and network with other designers and companies.

If you aren't already attending or you're on the fence, NOW is the time to get on board, especially if this is what you've been waiting for. We have added some more places for the new designer members but I have a feeling they won't last long! so to find out more just click here or you contact me (here in the comments or over on Facebook either on the post there or by PM) for more info or call or email Craig (details here) at CHA UK to book at the special Designer prices we've worked out for you - it really is not to be missed.

I think I need a lie down after all this excitement!

Thank you for dropping by today and I look forward to meeting you soon!!

A Few of My Favourite Things... March Kit Scrapbooking Inspiration

Today I'm sharing the video of me making something with my March 'A Few of My Favourite Things...' kit...
This picture of my nephew on his birthday was the perfect match to the bright papers and cute doodles! Here are a couple of close ups so you can see all the details..
I used an Amy Tan / American Crafts Stitching Template to add some stitched details to compliment the doodles.
Mini Market stickers for the title along with an embellishment from the Snip 'n' Stick sheet in the kit and a stamp.
A small washi tape and embellishment cluster at the top of the page....
and as promised, the video of me putting it all together, I try to explain my process as much as possible as I go...
Thank you for dropping by today!
