Thank You!!

Thank you to everyone who watched the show, e-mailed in (ordered the CD's obviously! LOL) and sent me lovely messages after - was sooo lovely - when I came out of the studio every icon on my phone was lit up for the first time ever - Text, Email, Twitter, Facebook etc... and they kept coming through all day and night!!

I had a lovely day and was paired with the lovely Leonie who made everything a breeze! She is such a professional - as are all the team at Create & Craft, everyone from the camera men to the floor manager to the production people do everything to make you feel at ease and help you (as a first timer I really didn't know what to expect!)

Also a thank you to those that made cards and samples for the show - Deb, Karen and Mummy xxx

Over the weekend I will post pics of all the cards and projects on the show as a little 'inspiration gallery' to those of you that got them. Over the next few weeks there will be other projects, lots of stuff from the design team, and some more surprises coming as well!! (much more in the pipeline, I'm a VERY busy girl!!) and that long promised free download will defo happen next week - a big thank you for the support I've received :o)

BIG DAY!

So it's here, the big day is tomorrow (12 noon) and I have soooo many butterflies! I hope you will all be watching.... (you musn't laugh at me if I do anything wrong though!) Today I have been finalising all the samples to show you - with the help of the lovely Karen who I thank from the bottom of my heart - how I would have done it without her I really don't know!

Introducing.......

My new DT girls!!

Here is a little bit about the 4 new additions to my team......

Lisa is from Yorkshire, she loves crafting, gardening, baking, knitting and sewing and her claim to fame is that she can still do the splits! (eeek!) You can see her blog here.

Clare is a stay at home mum to two young boys (and wife to one older boy!) and spends her time crafting and running around after her 'Tartan Army' :o) She loves Promarkers as much as the rest of us! You can see her blog here.

Donna started cardmaking a few years ago and has also dabbled in lots of other crafts including jewellery and rug making. In her spare time she makes cards for charity. You can see her blog here

and last but not least!

Shell lives with her partner and has two sons, she's about to become a nan for the first time (I couldn't believe it - she doesn't look old enough!) She has been crafting for four years and loves everything crafty! You can see her blog here

I'm sure we will see lots from them in the next few weeks and get to know them all a bit better - they are a fab addition to my existing team!!

Thank you again to everyone that applied - I have already spoken to a few of you regarding other things and I'm sure I will work with all of you in the future!

I must get back on with making samples now - first show is on Thursday (that came around soooo quickly!!) and I have a TON of samples to make! (luckily I have this lot to help me with the next one - yay!!)

Home Sweet Home......

Today I'm sharing a 'Home Sweet Home' frame I made from My Little Shoebox papers

Today I contacted all the talented people that applied for my Design Team - it was so hard to say 'No' to anyone but I'm sure I will find ways to work with everyone whether it be on the Design Team in the future or as Guest Designers - telling people bad news is so hard and I must admit, did make me cry, but I got some lovely responses back so thank you for those, it did make me feel better and not such a horrid person! (I need to toughen up!!)

Once all of the team have picked up their messages I will announce who they are and share their wonderful work with you - I'm so excited!

I had a fantastic birthday yesterday with lovely friends - it was really the best one I've had for a long time and thank you to those who made it special and to all of you who sent me birthday messages on the blog and through email / facebook / twitter and text - I was overwhelmed!!

I will be sharing a sneaky peek of the second CD tomorrow so look out for that!

Now I need to go and work on some more samples for the show - you need a LOT to fill that studio!!

Birthday Revelations!

Morning people!

Yes, I'm blogging early today, most unlike me! but I won't have time to do it later as today I turned the big 3-0 so I will be celebrating / drowning my sorrows* (*delete as applicable) LOL

As its a special day for me I'm going to tell you my last secret! It really is the last one, nothing else up my sleeve - Promise!!

*drum roll* etc....

There will actually be two CD's in my first show next week!

This is the cover of Woodland Whimsies 2 - there was soooo much I wanted to cram onto CD 1 but just didn't have the space and didn't want to make it too difficult to find things so I ended up with the follow up already! (this was going to come out later in the year - I'm soooo impatient!!!) CD 1 is all in bright colours and CD 2 is a darker colour palette and if you just can't decide, Create & Craft have a special Multibuy price if you buy both together!

I'll bring you another sneaky peek of CD 2 once the design team has been announced (final decision being made today - you ladies didn't make it easy for me!) and then I can start showing some of the fabby samples that have already been made by the existing Design Team ladies - there is just so much I want to share!!!

I'm also working on a freebie download that will be available for you early next week and will match with the CD's

Whippets, Flat Caps and Paper!

I'm up north with the family at the moment for a little early 30th Birthday celebration with the family and my oooop north friends. I've had some lovely pressies (I know thats naughty as it isnt the actual day yet but Mummy and Daddy said it was OK and I wasn't going to refuse was I?? LOL) I've also had a lovely blue sparkly cake with cherries and buttercream icing - it should be the absolute law that cakes must all be made that way - YUM!

I've also had chance to see everyone creating things with my CD - so nice to see everyone doing something a bit different! My first show is fast approaching (the 17th June) and the jittery nerves are just starting to creep in!

I've had some fabby design team applications and will be reviewing them all this week - I'll be contacting those who make it on Friday / Saturday - sorry to leave you in suspense, I know the horrible waiting feeling well but I'm travelling back to Essex Wednesday and its my Birthday Thursday so Friday will be the first chance I have to do it (and thats if I've managed to decide - I wish I could say yes to everyone!!)

I also have another little revelation coming later in the week as well as some pics of the Design Teams work - lovely lovely stuff, I hope you will agree!

Last Day!!

Lovely Day!

Today was one of those lovely relaxed kind of days. I spent some time with a good friend, relaxed, got some things done and then got home to my first delivery of CD's!!!! It was sooo exciting to see them all done - now I can't wait to get them out there! I have some more CD news coming soon, so keep an eye out for that!

The Design Team packs are all made up and ready to go off in the post tomorrow - can't wait to see what they create! Look out for some fabby pics coming soon!!

My sister just arrived from up north and we are all so excited yet tired so will probably have an early night ready for a weekend of fun!

Studio Reorganised - Again!

Today I spent some time re-organising my studio (again!) but I actually feel this time it's "done" the cupboard is fixed, everything is back in and now everything looks clean and bright and spacious - no clutter to mess with my head when I'm trying to be creative! I'm still waiting on my new furniture though so it will change a little bit soon - but for now, here is where I work.....

Heres a close up of the bunting in the corner that I made from a Maya Road Pennant Album strung onto Studio Calico twine - I just love that stuff!

Here is the view from my window - I just love this view - its the top floor of my house so I'm high up and look right over the green out front and the forest (at the back of the house is where I originally had my studio but thats right in the forest so it was far too dark!)

And here is my fave Living Dead Doll! I collect them but she's the only one that lives in my studio at the moment, my sister says this is what I will actually look like when I'm dead - I can definitely see the resemblance!! LOL

Tomorrow my sis and her boyfriend arrive - yay! and are staying for the weekend - the beginning of my birthday celebrations, it's finally here - woo! I'm so excited to see them :o)

As you can tell I didn't do much work today as the CD is done now! I did automatically open the folder this morning then remembered I was done! Instead I done the studio then worked on some illustrations for a children's book before crashing out with a crunchie (they should really come in twos like Twixes don't you think?!), very relaxing!

All Done!

Today I finished the CD and sent off to be produced - this is quite scary as its now all done and I can't change it, I just have to hope people like it! The control freak in me wants to camp out at post box, snatch it back and do it all over again! but I know I've really done my best, I've had great feedback and I have to relax now and just let it be - difficult for me!

In celebration I've painted my nails barbie pink - something else I never do! (I always have plain or dark nails) I wanted to do something to mark the end of what has been a long and exciting process! Sounds silly I suppose, but its my equivalent of putting on some red lippy or getting highlights done - a little 'pick me up'

I've also been planning my birthday shennanigans up and down the country - one of the benefits of having lived in the north and the south is my two sets of friends and family - meaning I get to party at each end of the country - I'm so excited and hope I won't be disappointed, there is always the danger you build it up too much in your head! I'm trying not to overthink it and just be thankful I will get to see everyone over the next week or two and spend some time in both places I am lucky enough to call home!!

So for the rest of the week I'm tying up all the loose ends, replying to all the emails I havent had chance to, reviewing design team applications (still a couple of days if you havent yet sent yours in!) and working on a couple of other projects. Will also be great to get everything off to the current design team girls - can deliver my mums personally (only 4 days mum! woo!!)

Bank Holiday Fun!

Hope you have all enjoyed your bank holiday? I've been working for most of it as I had to make sure the CD was finalised ready to be sent off for production tomorrow - eeek! Soooo looking forward to getting my pre-production samples at the end of the week!!! My actual CD - not just one I made at home but a properly printed one in a properly printed case - my excitement knows no bounds!!!

Despite the working I still enjoyed myself, the weather didn't look up to much anyway and yesterday was soooo windy - our Sky wasn't working all day - OH was very close to flinging the box out of the window and my Terry Pratchett recording messed up - luckily its repeated today as it looks fabbo and I would have been gutted to miss it.

Fuzzybutt pooch has loved us both being home all the time and has been taking it in turns to snuggle with each of us - she's such a little doll, I love her!

Also, this is my last full week of being in my 20's as next week I turn 30!! Do I have to start acting like a proper grown up then? I certainly hope not! I have flitted between being OK with turning 30 and being depressed about it but I figure 30 isn't that old now and I look a LOT younger, bwahahahaha (no really, I actually do, a bit anyway.....)

Welcome Mummy!

So today I welcome the third member of my design team - my mum!!

so what lovely things can I tell you about her.... she's a mum of 4 (me and my 3 squishies - my poor dad is outnumbered by girlies!) and has always encouraged all of us to be artsy and creative, so I guess I have a lot to thank her for! She cooks lovely cakes and passable other food - she uses the smoke alarm as a timer... she loves animals and has a whole load, me and my dad are actually trying to talk her out of getting some chickens..... She wears purple eyeliner, which is probably why its my favourite colour in the whole world! and she stays up later than anyone I know - want a chat at 4am? she'll be awake and ready to take that call!!! She took the brave step today of starting her very first blog to show off her work - you can follow here. Today is her birthday - so please wish her happy birthday when you visit!!

I'm so looking forward to seeing what she creates with my designs - I know she has lots of ideas already!
