Sister Scrapbooking with American Crafts

Today I'm sharing a page I made a couple of weeks ago using some lovely American Crafts collections, most of the papers used are from the Dear Lizzy 'Lucky Charm' collection (love this one!)...
I used white Bazzill cardstock for the background, topped with this strong floral pattern - it was too much for me as a whole sheet so I added the watercolour wash paper to the top. I then layered up lots of scraps from previous projects (probably the most layering I've ever done!)
The picture is an Instagram print from Printed.com I added one of my Chipboard frames (available here in my shop) which I coloured with a neon pink Hero Arts dauber (how did I live without these??) and then gold glitter stickles to match the glitter thickers used in the title. The 'Grateful for this Day' stamp is also from one of my stamp sets as are the butterflies!
I finished with some splashes of ink from Studio Calico and more neon pink dabs from the Hero Arts dauber, some sequins and enamel dots and a wooden arrow from the lovely Freckled Fawn, also painted neon pink with the dauber.

You can definitely see my gold / neon pink obsession coming through again can't you?!

Today I gave a little peek at a new product I've been working on, coming in 2-3 weeks over on my Facebook page, if you'd like to pop by and take a look, I'll post it on my blog later in the week :o)

Now, I must get back to work, a very busy and exciting week here at Hurley HQ this week - watch this space!!

Thank you for dropping by today!

Scrapbooking with American Crafts & new Create & Craft TV Show dates!

First up, I want to share a LO I made the other night, since my studio has been moved around and I have more space, I've re-found my mojo and I'm loving it! I've been colouring, card making, scrapping and art journaling my little socks off every night for at least an hour before I head off to bed! This is the page I made the other night...
The paper is from the new Dear Lizzy line for American crafts, I just fell in love with it and didn't want to cover it all up, so I used one instagram pic of B and Fuzzybutt, and layered with some more Dear Lizzy and Amy Tangerine papers, I also added some stitching, foil thickers (love!!) and I made a bow from glitter tape - I'm having a bit of a gold moment recently, it goes with both my neutrals and neons which is what I seem to be working with mostly at the moment. Here are a few close ups...
I love using American Crafts products, everything is such great quality and nearly everything they produce is totally my style! Everything used in this layout was from Sarah's Cards (thats not me by the way, another Sarah!)
I also have two new show dates for you today! I will be back on your screens, next Friday (bank holiday - yay!) 29th at 10am and 2pm with some new Promarker sets and demos, I hope you can tune in!

Thank you for dropping by today!

The Road to Recovery....

I've spent most of the week curled up with my fuzzy butt pooch on the sofa with the duvet trying to feel better - I think Belle enjoyed it more than me, a whole week of lazy snuggles! I think Ive finally turned a corner and have even got back into my studio the last few days! I just want to thank everyone that took the time out to send me a message over the last week or so - all your well wishes have helped to keep my spirits up when I was feeling grotty (that and watching Jeremy Kyle of course - I can only stand it when i'm ill!)

It's been a relief to start getting things done again and I think my guilt for a few days of non-activity has actually meant I have achieved more in the last day or two - watch this space for more news!! (I hate not being able to tell people stuff, I'm the worst secret keeper!)

There isn't much creating you can do from the sofa although I did get lots of cross stitching done (I'm working on one of a dollshouse) Doing so much stitching made me long to work with fabric some more - here is a layout of my little sis Harley in the snow - a great excuse to break out the white felt! (and some of the gorge fabric paper from the Dear Lizzy line - Im obssessed!!) some fab October Afternoon paper and of course, my clouds!...... (from My Little Shoebox)

Dear Lizzy... (and Phil!)

Last week was one of my super talented friends birthdays - Phil makes amazing Canvases, Clocks, Cards, Cakes and other lovely stuff - check out his website here. As a fellow designer I knew he would be judging me harshly! so I had to make him a card that was good, not just 'OK' or he would be talking about me for years to come! So I dug out the gorgeous 'Dear Lizzy' range from American Crafts which I had been saving for just such an occasion and got to work! And here is the finished card....

This range is so lovely to work with, its one I will be restocking immediately and keeping in my supplies!

Happy Birthday Phil! x

Flutterbys.....

Today I finally got round to a project I've had in mind since we went to York last year (can't believe its been that long!) In the York Museum they had an old fashioned classroom and in there was a Butterfly Box (that's probably not what they're really called) I've always been fascinated by these - my Uncle Ken had one when I was little - I love to look at Butterflies but don't like things flying near me so sadly this is the only way I get to have a good look at them! Here is a pic of the one in the museum - it's not a great pic as it was taken in a dark room with my old dying camera

Since I saw this I've had it in mind to make my own (from paper obviously!) and today I did! Made from Daisy D's Coin Holders backed onto chipboard - the butterflies are punched from scraps and layered with glossy accents, tulle and gems - I even managed to get in a tiny Tim Holtz spinner! I used gold wax round the inside edges so no chipboard showed through and to give it a lovely vintagey look

I think I'll make a few more now! I'd still like to make a bigger box but am waiting for something to inspire me for that one - will probably need a bigger butterfly punch too!

I also received my Dear Lizzy goodies from Sarah's Cards today - everything is soooo lovely I was almost tempted to use them but decided I need a bit more stoking time before attacking them with scissors - they're THAT nice! Something for the weekend....... x
