Just a few days left!...

Some More Cards!
Well, thank goodness it's about 10 degrees cooler here today and we've had a big thunderstorm, yay! I'm back in London on Thursday and I honestly don't think I could have survived it in that heat again, phew!
So, today I had a million emails to catch up on as well as some illustration work, which I'm still working on now, proposal sketches for a potential book project - it's very exciting and a bit nerve wracking, wondering if the project will go ahead, if I'll be picked, when will it happen etc etc... so fingers crossed!
I also want to share a few cards with you, I made lots and lots for my recent meetings and projects so I will share them as I get time to photograph them, here are the ones I done today...
A very quick 5 minute card using the Lite Four Legged Friends catridge for my Expression - I wanted to test some of the cuts on this cartridge and this chihuahua just stood out - he's so cute I had to make him into a quick card - this took less than 5 minutes and was all cut from scraps!
It's always good to have a few 'less than 15 minute' card ideas to hand for those moments where you forget a birthday or occassion - B always always tells me at the last minute before we are going somewhere so I have to make something in 5 minutes while I'm running a bath and finding a dress to wear!
I also have this little pile of lovelies waiting for me in my studio - I feel some late night crafting coming on - I'm working on an altered book project and I can't wait to finish it, waiting for the paints / inks etc... to dry in between stages is soooo frustrating! LOL
Speaking of dresses I have a few vintage beauties waiting for me on eBay so I better go and check my bids before I get back to the drawing!

Build A Flower
Yesterday I finally got round to having my first play with the Expression 2 - wow! I can't wait to learn all the ins and outs of this machine because from the basic few things I done yesterday, amazing! I love the cute cartridges that come built in as well, especially the Cosmo Cricket one, adorable! Expect lots of Cricut projects over the next few days :o)
Today I launched some new projects in my shop, one of which I have been asked for so much since I first demonstrated the flowers from my Woodland Whimsies CD on TV, so I have made these as a download in lots of different colourways including the plain and polka dot options.
You may remember this card I made with them during my demo, each layer was scrunched and distressed, layered together and fastened with a brad then I added some glossy accents to make dew drops. You can also mist with your spray inks, add glitter and buttons, so many things! They are a great way of getting the layered flower look if you don't have a die cutting machine.
And to mark the launch of the 'Build A Flower' downloads, I'm giving away one of the sets for free! This Red and Blue is the one I demo-ed and you can download by clicking here or on the picture below.

Recently Letraset sent me a sample pack of Safmat to try out, I'm not sure if you've seen this yet? although they have had it for ages it's only recently that they introduced it to the craft market, its a clear sheet of sticky on a backing sheet that you can run through your printer! So perfect for unusual greetings and titles (where else would I get anything that said 'Fuzzybutt'? LOL) or for adding peoples names to projects or even just if you have a font you particularly love and want to use.
But, the best use I've discovered for it is for using with your Digi stamps! I've got quite a few digi stamps that I love to use for paper piecing techniques but I often find that I waste lots of my patterned paper by doing that because you have to cut the paper down (if it's 12x12" scrapbook paper) or you have to run a whole sheet through when really you just want to use up your scraps.
So.... I printed out my digi designs onto the Safmat, then cut them out, peeled off the backing sheet and stuck to my scraps, rub firmly so the clear backing goes completely invisible (it has a nice matte finish not glossy like laminating) then trim! It now means I can use my scraps up with my digis, yay!
Here is a little card I made with my Butterfly Digi from my Woodland Whimsies CD and some scraps of Crate Paper (the greeting is also on safmat and attached to another scrap of kraft card)

Promarker Storage and A Quick Card
Today I made this card, again using the Kuretake papers that are my current obssession (it's not my fault, I love polka dots!) and my Woodland Whimsies Owl & Cloud stamps, coloured with my Promarkers. This took about 10 minutes - perfect for one of those last minute "ooops I forgot til just now" cards.
I've had lots of questions about how I store my Promarkers and what I keep them all in, well, you may have seen this big black box in the background of most of the photos taken on my work table....

Well, it contains all my Promarkers...
Finally, a box that fits them all in and with a bit of space in case Letraset make more colours! :o) and best of all it was only about a fiver in the sale from one of those 'homeware' shops my Mother-in-Law makes me go to every so often in her attempts to try and 'domesticate' me, while I of course look for things to store craft stash in or things I can alter, and completely ignore all kitchen and cleaning equipment, LOL

Letraset Projects
Today I can start showing you the projects I created for CHA for Letraset - all of them 3D things, they sent me a load of blank things and I had to come up with some ideas - eeek! LOL

which I coloured with Promarkers to make it look old and vintagey...
Then on the inside I used elements from my Woodland Whimsies CD, all coloured with Promarkers (including the strip of grass which I cut and coloured by hand) to create a 3D 'Home' scene - I love to make 'Home' themed things, probably because it's my favourite place in the whole world! :o)

Being a bit remiss.....
I've been a bit of a lazy blogger the last week or two for which I apologies. I have been unwell and busy and trying to get lots of things in order (although I'm not making excuses!) I will start being more interesting - promise!! Thank you to those that sent me lovely messages to check I was OK.
Firstly as its now October (seriously, where did September go?!) we have a new Guest Designer, Sarah! Sarah is on a few design teams and demos Promarkers (a shared obssession!) She will be setting tomorrows challenge so please pop over to have a look! In the meantime, you can see her fab cretaions on her blog here.
Also, there is a lovely feature in papercraft Essentials magazine this month, Patsy Jackson shows how you can use Woodland Whimsies to make halloween cards! pick up your copy :o)

Back Again!
Just looked and can't believe I haven't blogged since Thursday! I have been very busy but big apologies, that was very rubbish of me!
I must quickly mention that the lovely Lisa from my Design Team has some Blog Candy up for grabs so pop over and try your luck! (not just yet, at least pretend to be a bit interested in my comings and goings!)
The Bank Holiday weekend just whizzed past, I had a fab night with some friends on Friday, one of those unplanned things that turn into the best type of nights as you have no expectations to disappoint you, was nice to relax! The rest of the weekend was mostly working, although I did manage to track down the perfect size storage box for my Promarkers - I was so pleased! I did have them in the lovely storage thingys that Letraset sent me but I like to take them downstairs with me or to bed if I'm finishing something up so wanted something I could carry them round in- am now a very happy bunny (its the simple things, it really is!)
Today I saw the feature on me in Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine, made me do a little squeal as I ripped it open in the shop - I think the poor lady in there was slightly alarmed - she already thinks I'm a bit odd as everyday I buy cherry tictacs - they are SERIOUSLY yummy, every food should be cherry flavoured! I also saw that Woodland Whimsies was featured in the 'Ten of the Best' feature in Papercraft Inspirations which was a nice surprise as I had no idea!
I'm hoping to get some inky play time this week as I promised you some Promarker tutorials and I want to show you lots more things with my Sprays and Ink-A-Balls, which you will be seeing a LOT more of (thats all I'm saying for now...) thanks to everyone that has placed orders for them - it has kept OH out of my hair packing while I've been working on more stuff! LOL
Today is also the last day of my August Guest Designer, Sue's term, so farewell Sue! but welcome....... NICOLA, our fabby September Guest Designer who I'll be telling you a bit more about tomorrow. She will be setting next weeks challenge for us as well so look out for that, its a good one (you may want to get your Christmas Cheer CD ready, thats all I'm saying... LOL)
Now I must get on, I'm still working on my top secret project as well as scheduling some stuff for the Afternoon Tea kit clubs - you will be hearing a lot more about those soon too!

I was looking back through my last few blog posts (I use it as a mini diary so I can see if I've missed anything) and noticed I have been neglecting my fabby Design Team girls, which is very very naughty of me as they have been hard at work making some fab projects (wait til you see Melly's project for next weeks challenge, eeeek! - I'm not playing favourites by the way, she was just the first to show hers and its LOVELY!) Catching Up!
I have been catching up on lots of stuff, preparing for a show takes sooo long and other things tend to drift a bit so today we got the last few orders out (and then more came in, LOL) all of the Blog Hop prizes out (if you didn't get an e-mail from me to say I had sent yours then let me know!) and more DT goodies bagged up and ready to go tomorrow.
I also finally got round to photographing and putting up all of the show samples for you to see - please see the post below to see all of them, what a fab bunch of designers I have working with me! My friend who helped me to set up the show was blown away by the quality of the samples so you DT girls should all be super proud of yourselves! :)
This weeks Challenge is now up on the Challenge Blog and this week Clare has picked 'animals' for us! I've just had a quick look at the entries in (will go back later and post comments for you all) so far and am very very impressed! There is also still a couple of days to enter Sue's 'Romance' Challenge (closes midnight on Sunday)
Now on with prep for the next show - phew! I've had to literally lock away my Christmas Cheer! stamps so I don't get distracted - love them!!
