Hunkydory Elegant Lady Card

Today, I'm sharing a quick card I made using some of Hunkydory's Dressed to Impress Card Kit...

I scored the topper down the two sides so that the side panels stood out and added some feathers and sequins behind...

I added a little cluster of resin flowers and enamel dots to the side of the embellishment which was backed onto some black glitter ribbon...

 Here's another little close up...

I loved the colours of this kit, so even though it was a little bit fancier than my usual style I totally fell in love with it!

Hunkydory Floating in Space Card

Today I'm sharing with you another card made with a Hunkydory kit - this one is also just made with one of the little taster kits but these elements are available in some of the larger kits. Today I used the little space boy set which can be found here to create this 3D card...

Firstly, I made the 3D card (I call it a box easel card) from 2 6x6" card blanks, I covered the front section with a square of the star card matted on some silver card and used my Martha Stewart circle cutter to cut a hole in the centre.

I then added the portion of the star card with the planet on to the back part of my card, and added some more star card matted on silver to the sticky out bit of card at the bottom (I'm sure there is a more technical name for that!)

I then used a scrap of the leftover star card, folded in half, to make a step at the back of the card to attach the rocket and planet to - I used a strip of acetate to attach the rocket so it still moves around a little bit, I also added some of the tiny die cut planets to the back section of the card using Pinflair glue.

I then attached a strip of acetate to the astronaut boy, I added some glossy accents to one end and tucked him in behind my front panel (snip off any excess acetate that pokes through to the circle once the glossy accents is dry) once dry bend the acetate slightly so that the boy bobs around in front of the card so he's floating in space!

As a finishing touch I added the die cut circle sentiment (matted onto silver and then punched out with a circle punch) and some dots of liquid pearls in black and white for some extra stars!

I hope you like my little space scene, it was certainly fun to create - I knew exactly what I wanted to do with this little set as soon as I saw it behind the scenes at Create & Craft, it was great to get to put it all together!

Hunkydory & Sizzix card

The other night I finally got some time to play with some of my Hunkydory kits (yay!) so today I'm sharing one of my fave cards that I made. I just love the artwork so this came together really quickly...

First I used my score board to make a card blank base from the scattered stars adorable scorable card. Then I stamped a brick stamp onto some brown textured card using walnut stain distress ink. I dried the distress ink with a heat gun so it wouldn't smudge before distressing round the edges with vintage photo distress ink.

 I then added some rock candy distress stickles to add a bit of glitz to the brown, once that was dry I added the little boy topper. The swirls are cut from a Sizzix die, I covered the join in the corner with a daisy (also a sizzix die) these little daisies are so cute and really easy to make with pinflair glue (you cut all the petals individually with the die)

 

I added a couple of leaves, using my embossing tool to mark them with veins first to make them more realistic and finished with some dots of liquid pearls in silver and white and some icicle stickles to the daisies.

I made another card that night which I will share later his week, but here is a little sneak peek...

I should also mention, if you are connected to me on Facebook you may have noticed a little change of name on my page today (the 'illustrator & craft designer' bit has been removed) don't worry nothing has changed, and I'm still both of those things! it's just I have some new projects coming up that don't fit in to either of those categories and I'm just getting prepared!
